I chose Stephanie to cater for a birthday and anniversary family/friends surprise dinner party based primarily on the very positive reviews posted on bark.com Having never previously used a private chef before, this was a large leap of faith but I’m delighted to say, thanks to Stephanie and her two charming assistants, that it turned out to be a truly wonderful night and one we’ll treasure for a very long time. Despite being really busy, Stephanie replied promptly to my initial email enquiry. We communicated regularly to agree the style of food from which she produced an interesting and balanced menu with cocktails as an optional extra. Stephanie was also great at keeping my grand ideas on menu choices in check so as to not overload guests with too much food. One shout-out I must also give is Stephanie’s flexibility, when I had to unexpectedly change the original date due to unforeseen circumstances. She could not have been more helpful. On the day, I managed to get my wife out of the house under false pretences, allowing Stephanie and her team to arrive and start preparing the meal plus set the table. The smells that met us on our return were sensational. The table was a work of art, with personalised menus and funky/unique place settings. The Asian/fusion meal, featuring 4 x starter canapés and two main courses, was superb. The satisfied noises coming from our guests with every offering said everything, as did the finished empty plates. The dishes were as visually stunning as they were tasty. The cocktails between courses also worked a treat. As importantly, the rapport and banter between our chefs and ourselves made it a really special evening. The wonderful dessert rounded the meal off perfectly. And the final piece of magic is that Stephanie and the team hand your kitchen back to you exactly in the condition they found it before departing. I cannot recommend Stephanie highly enough. From start to finish, she was great and delivered an occasion we will never forget. Life is all about memories at the end of the day.
